Fitting Meditation Into Your Busy Life

Meditation’s quite the rage these days. Even high profilers are engaged in “om” techniques: Gisele Bundchen, Madonna, Hugh Jackman, Russell Simmons, Gwyneth Paltrow, Clint Eastwood, Katy Perry–even Oprah is meditating. And for good reason.

Fitting Meditation into Your Busy Life

Active meditation yields mind-blowing results. Hundreds of studies conducted by organizations, universities and neuroscientists (including: Yale, Harvard, UCLA, The Global NeuroScience Community & more) have proven that regular, active meditation can bring about incredible outcomes, including:

  • Increased focus and concentration
  • Decreased anxiety, stress, worry
  • Decreased brain aging
  • Increased ability to learn and remember
  • Improved mood and wellbeing
  • Improved relationships
  • Increased self-control
  • More accountability and follow through
  • Increased creativity
  • Increased sex-drive

So meditation’s benefits are many and impressive. But let’s be honest… who has the time? I mean, how can you fit one more thing into your busy life, right?

I have two things to say to that:

  • I get it. And…
  • It’s a matter of priority.

No matter how busy you are, if something is important to you, you WILL find the time. I mean, we all know that when we need something accomplished, the best person to ask is a busy person. So what it really comes down to, for us busy people, is this one question…

Question: Do we think meditation is important enough to do as a daily practice? Because really, why should you prioritize meditation?

Answer: Precisely BECAUSE you’re always busy. And because you are up to big things. You have goals and dreams to accomplish, and no matter what actions you take toward those goals, if your thinking stinks, or isn’t in alignment with your goals, forget about achieving them and/or forget about enjoying the process of achieving them.

I witness this every day. I see smart, sophisticated, capable women (and men) sabotage their dreams because they don’t believe in themselves, or they allow fear and other negative emotions to get in their way. And this is so upsetting–devastating, really. So much so that I chose to get certified as a hypnotherapist NOT because I wished to pursue a career in hypnotherapy, but rather to help my clients stop sabotaging themselves and get on with achieving real, lasting success – which absolutely MUST begin with your mindset.

You are whatever you focus on. Period. Focus on your fears and all the things you can’t do, and that’s the space you’ll be in. That’s what you’ll project. That’s what you’ll end up with. Focus on what you can and will do, and on what’s possible and meaningful for you, and you will experience a life of abundance that you appreciate and love.

I know, from experience and without question, that meditation will be critical to your success in life and business, because that kind of healthy thinking and focused belief in yourself makes it possible for you to take action in alignment with those positive beliefs.

Here’s an example that illustrates how powerful your FOCUS is.

I have a friend who had the opportunity to become certified to drive race cars. As part of the course, all students were required to learn defensive driving skills and prove they could control a car in various situations.

One of those situations involved handling a car you couldn’t steer or control – a situation that could happen if you hit a large patch of ice while driving. The instructor asked the class if they had ever driven past an accident scene where a car had hit a tree or a pole. He said that if they had, they would have noticed, in almost all cases, that the car would hit the tree or pole dead center. There could be a half a block of open space on either side of the tree that was hit, but somehow the driver skidded right smack into the 12-inch diameter tree with the front of his/her car.

Were they all just incredibly unlucky, and somehow missed all that open space on either side of the pole or tree, only to hit the narrow tree? Were they all terrible drivers who were so unable to control the car’s skid that they couldn’t avoid a small target like a tree? No. They were all thinking the same thing as the car skidded to a sudden stop: “DON’T HIT THE TREE!! DON’T HIT THE TREE!!”

So they were looking at the tree. They were thinking about the tree. Every part of their mind and body was focused on the tree. And, according to the instructors, whatever you are focused on, you WILL hit. Whether you want to or not. So, even though they didn’t want to hit the tree, and they were thinking “Don’t hit the tree!”, all their eyes, mind and body heard was “tree,” and they steered right into it. FOCUS is that powerful.

SO WHAT YOU CAN DO?

Start meditating! Guided, positive meditation will have you FOCUS on the things that matter to you instead of the things that don’t. Focus on what you want… GET WHAT YOU WANT! That’s how it works.

And, I have a fantastic solution for those of you who truly are busy and feel anxious at the thought of trying to “fit meditation in.”

Meditate while you sleep!

I, personally, created over 100 guided meditation titles/sessions, specifically with busy people in mind. I am busy and I completely understand the challenges that come with off-the-chart schedules. These meditations were specially designed to get you unstuck, motivated, and moving in your business and life–and each of them has a “sleep” track. Nothing should prevent you from achieving your best life. Just select your title, put your earbuds in, and drift into a transforming sleep.

Because when your beliefs and actions are working in harmony, you can accomplish just about anything you set your mind to.

Through guided meditations, I will help you align your mindset and behaviors so that you experience a positive boost in the areas of your life that you know you need it most. Whether that’s freedom, happiness, peace, prosperity, or everything in between.

So let’s get you set up for success in every area of your life, starting right now.

To get started:

  1. Visit my meditation page.
  2. Think about a priority challenge you want to work on.
  3. Browse through the guided meditations and select the title that makes the most sense to you – the one you know, in your gut, you should start with.
  4. Spend a minimum of 30 days listening to it every morning, day or evening (whichever fits into your schedule – remember every audio session I’ve created has a sleep track option).

Finally, let me say, “Yay, YOU!” for taking responsibility and action toward, your own peace and success!

I’m excited to be partnered with you on your journey.

Let’s do this!
